Street Photography
Wow – what a crazy time this has been the last couple of weeks! Unfortunately, I’ve haven’t kept up on my blogging through it, so now I get to make it up to you by showing you what I’ve been up to.
I’ve been taking a class in street photography, a style of photography that focuses on seeing “the unusual in the everyday.” That quote comes from iN-PUBLiC, a site devoted to promoting and showcasing street photography. My instructor, Mason Resnick, came up with a good description when a friend of his daughter pointed to one of his images and asked if it was a play. “Yes it is,” he replied. “Only the people in the pictures are real people, and they don’t realize they’re acting.”
Here are my favorites from my first assignment. They were taken at the Cinco de Mayo parade in Pasco.

I’m really enjoying this – it’s very difficult, but the challenge is pushing me photographically, and that’s good.
If you want to learn more and see work by some established street photographers, make sure to check out the iN-PUBLiC site, and Mason Resnick’s images.
I’ll share some more with you soon, and I’ll give you some more links then.

That sounds like a great class and I love the images you are capturing. It sounds like a great way to stretch yourself and get out of the box, maybe I need to hit the streets too!
